Hollis Kowaloff

Hollis Kowaloff is a Senior Systems Analyst at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. She received her B.A. in Psychology at the University of Rochester, in Rochester, New York and worked as a senior programmer in industry and banking prior to coming to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Her main professional interest is the use of interactive programs for health promotion, clinical interviewing and as a teaching tool.

  • HIV drug information
  • HIV guidelines
  • Medicine department evaluations (for residents and staff physicians)

  • Standard precautions training
  • Research protocols for HIV

Past projects include these other interactive programs:
  • An employee health promotion
  • A dietary analysis program
  • A blood donor program to screen potential donors for risk of HIV transmission
  • A teaching program for women presenting to the clinic with symptoms of a urinary tract infection
  • A complete medical history for patients
Currently, Holly is working on a project to allow patients in the privacy of their own homes to enter a complete medical history. This history will be available to their physicians at the time of their first office visit and can be incorporated into the patient's online medical record.
